NIGHT GUARD FOR PREVENTING TOOTH GRINDING

How a "wrong bite" can also cause headaches or back pain

The impact of an incorrect bite position on our overall health is often underestimated. Small misalignments of the bite position can lead, for example, to temporomandibular joint pain, painful neck tension, headaches (migraines), dizziness. Asymmetry of the temporomandibular joints affects the body. Due to unequal loads in the temporomandibular joint, there is a minimal rotation of the skull, which is transferred to the cervical spine. This asymmetry can lead to changes in the curvature of the spine and various displacements in the skeleton. Man is no longer in balance! This is referred to as Temporo-mandibular dysfunction (TMD).
Occlusal splints (also called bite splints, bite planes, or night guards) are removable dental appliances carefully molded to fit the upper or lower arches of teeth. They are used to protect tooth and restoration surfaces, manage mandibular (jaw) dysfunction TMD, and stabilize the jaw joints during occlusion or create space prior to restoration procedures, especially during sleep.

Modern methods of root canal treatments (Endodontics)

SAVING THE TOOTH

A root canal problem occurs when soft tissue inside a tooth that contains nerve and blood vessels, gets infected. This area is called the dental pulp, or just the nerve, for most people. Root canal treatment is necessary if Tooth-Decay has worked its way in to the nerve and it is infected. Often this is the last attempt to save a tooth.
Inflammation of the tooth nerve (pulpitis) is usually noticeable by extreme sensitivity to severe pain of the affected tooth, color change of the tooth crown or swelling of the gums.
The causes of diseased root canals are various. For example, deep and undetected caries, repeated treatments on the same tooth, tooth and root cracks or accidental injuries can be the cause. In a situation such as this, you would need a careful diagnosis to determine the state of the problem.
Root canal treatment – known as endodontics – involves removing the infected tissues. The Dentist then cleans, shapes and seals it to keep them from recontamination. During the entire process, the Dentist would administer local anaesthesia to provide pain-free treatment.
With a timely treatment, you can still save the problematic tooth. After a short healing period and successful treatment, the patients will be able to use their teeth like before. However, if the infection has spread, the tooth may have to be removed. Not all root canal treatments are successful.

In 2014, Dr. Stefan Bucuta acquired the following portfolio: Endodontics. This means that he has successfully completed further training. Dr. Bucuta has a significant number of cases of endodontic treatment.
